Boise Airport's Green Guide to
Sustainability
BOI's Mission - "Go Green"
From the new terminal opening in 2004, the Boise Airport has
focused on incorporating environmentally prudent actions and
products into everyday operations. As the largest regional
airport for southwest Idaho and the major commercial airport
serving the state capitol of Boise, the Airport works to be a good
steward and neighbor; doing our part to make Boise the Most Livable
City in the Country!

Building Re-Design
The intent of intelligent airport facility design is to marry
safety, convenience and cost effectiveness into one efficient
package. The redesign of the termainl afforded a number of
sustainable features to be incorporated -

- Intelligent placement of windows for natural light
- Architecturally designed sunshades, roof overhangs and blinds
on south, east and west windows terminal wide
- Heating/air cooling units sized, programmed and monitored for
optimum efficiency
- Bi-level and auto-off lighting in non-public locations
