Modernized Parking Technology Arrives at Boise Airport

Beginning this week, new parking technology will be installed across Boise Airport parking areas, including all garages and the Economy Parking lot. The upgrades include mobile payment options and license plate recognition technology designed to make exiting parking areas easier and more convenient.

Parking tickets issued by the new system will include a unique QR code. When customers are ready to leave, they can scan the code with a mobile device to view their parking duration and rate, complete payment and receive a receipt. No app download or registration is required.

After paying, customers can proceed directly to the exit. License plate recognition technology will verify that payment has been completed and automatically raise the exit gate, eliminating the need to insert a ticket.

Traditional payment options will remain available. Customers may pay by credit card at pay-on-foot stations or at the exit plaza. Cash will also continue to be accepted at the exit plaza.

The airport’s ADA discount, Reserved Parking and Valet Parking services will continue to be available.

The Car Park, the airport’s parking contractor, is implementing the improvements, which are the same ones used at parking garages in downtown Boise. The installation project is expected to be substantially complete by November 15.
