Boise Airport Opens Economy Parking Lot For Summer Travel
The Boise Airport is expecting a record number of passengers this summer travel season prompting the opening of the Economy Parking Lot from June 1, 2018 through August 31, 2018.
“Summer air travel is predicted to break records nationwide,” said Mike O’Dell, Deputy Director of Finance and Administration. “We want to ensure our travelers have an enjoyable experience at the Boise Airport, which is why we’re taking proactive measures to add additional parking spaces to meet demand.”
The Boise Airport experienced a record year in terms of passenger growth in 2017, with over 3.5 million passengers. That is an increase of 34.5 percent since 2013, when the airport last expanded their parking garage.
“Our passenger growth shows no signs of slowing,” said O’Dell. “Through April, passenger statistics are up 10 percent year-over-year, and the amount of available seats through October will grow 12 to 15 percent year-over-year.”
The Economy Parking Lot, located off Victory Road near Orchard St., has a daily parking fee of $7.50. A free shuttle is available 24/7, departing approximately every 15 minutes.
Passengers traveling this summer season are also encouraged to arrive two hours before their departure time, as check-in and security lines could be longer than normal.
