Boise Airport serves as a gateway for Idaho's backcountry. Fixed Base Operators and U.S. Customs and Border Protection are on site to provide a wide range of services for all levels of general aviation. Airport owned T-hangars and shade hangars are available for rent, but there is a waiting list for tenants. T-hangar locations, information, fees, and forms to be added to the list can be found here or call 208-383-3110.
Security Identification Display Areas (SIDA)
In a continuing effort to protect the airline industry and the traveling public against terrorist attacks, the Transportation Security Administration has ordered that Security Identification Display Areas (SIDA) be established on airports where cargo is being handled and loaded on aircraft. To comply with this regulation the airport, in conjunction with the TSA, has established three SIDA areas where FedEx, UPS and Western Air Express operate.
Access to these areas is restricted to SIDA badge holders. Warnings have been painted on the ground to stay clear of the areas unless you are properly badged. If you enter one of these SIDA areas, you can expect to be challenged and issued a Notice of Violation (NOV) if you do not have a valid SIDA badge.
Boise Airport is a landing rights airport. Prior to landing at a landing rights airport, permission must be obtained by speaking directly to a CBP Officer. Pilots are required to provide at least 3 hours advanced notice of their arrival to a CBP Officer. After hours and weekends by appointment only. Weekend requests are due by 4:30 pm Thursdays for the following weekend.
